This is a place of warring marauders
\nA land of struggle from legions of crusaders
\nFor it is faith that ran the rivers of blood
\nDrowning masses in misery and so many dead<\/p>\n

A voice of God appeared in a burning bush..
\nA wand of rod turned to a snake..
\nColour of blood made in the water’s rush..
\nWhere with Moses God did speak….<\/p>\n
A rainless dust turned into a sandy dunes..
\nA hardy people steeped in jest in Wadi Rum…
\nTrading spices and frankiscence on the run..
\nThe camel herding tribal caravan of Bedouin…<\/p>\n
*Dignity in Poverty…*<\/p>\n
A toddler dirt poor stone seller..
\nSelling silica squares each for a dinar..
\nScorching Sun torching skin all those under..
\nAn embellished memory amidst Petra’s wonder…<\/p>\n
*Red Rose City*- *PETRA*<\/p>\n
The red rose city carved out of stone
\nIn the desert valley called Wadi Musa
\nBy the Nabataeans of an era of bygone
\nWith tombs and caves of that tribe of Wadi Musa<\/p>\n
The Swiss explorer first cast his eyes…

\nReached Petra seeing inside what lies..

This- an UNESCO protected heritage site..
\nThe main attraction is the Treasury -Kings Tomb..
\nIt’s half way of greatest wonder in it’s womb…
\nWon’t leave Petra mesmerized by that sight !…<\/p>\n
*Tear of a donkey*…<\/p>\n
There was a heart wrenching moment..
\nFor me..
\nTo see a single tear..drop off a donkeys eye….
\nDriven by a teenager on a steep steps ascent…
\nIt’s whole tired body rocking with breath of fire..<\/p>\n
It’s eyes dowsed in sadness so extreme..
\nAs if asking “isn’t there a soul to give me a reprieve…”
\n“Of a daily grind of toil with pain to scream..”
\n“Oh..people of the world,to this orphan.. ”
\n“What would you do for my pain to relieve..?”<\/p>\n
I had no words to say what I felt…
\nThat single drop of tear tearing my heart…
\nOf the cruelty robbing off the dignity….
\nOf a life so lowly ranked in all for eternity…<\/p>\n
*Aquaba*<\/p>\n
Amman to Aquaba a five hour drive…
\nAcross the Red sea can see Eilat in Israel thrive..
\nAny polluters of Aquaba for six months jailed..
\nThe whole of Jordan’s hospitality so unveiled…<\/p>\n
*1967….*<\/p>\n
From Amman across Jordan river…
\nCan see Golan Heights and West bank…
\nThat saw the state of Israel as the winner..
\nOf the 1967 control for Golan Heights war…<\/p>\n
The air was cool the mind was clear…
\nThe awe inspiring spectacle-Petra’s wonder.
\nThe desert run on 4\u00d74 on the sands of Wadi Rum..
\nShall stay in our memory for years to come…<\/p>\n
